Our client is a long-established designer and manufacturer of leading retail display products. They are looking for a Senior Concept Designer to develop new Retail Design concepts, based on a range of requests - verbal, written and recorded from client meetings. You will complete design concepts for presentation to clients or internal review, as well as assist in following the concept through to prototype with design support.
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage the design of assigned projects and follow-up with account executives as to the status of projects.
- Create design concepts through appropriate design tools and techniques.
- Create assembly drawings – concept or actual.
- Create part drawings – concept, prototype or pricing.
- Coordinate project development including:
- review projects with fellow associates.
- direct drawing activity when needed.
- review drawings and analyse for function, design and fit.
- coordinate prototype build activity as required.
- coordinate outside vendor activity when needed.
- Operation of main departmental design programs, spreadsheets, e-mail, system network, and plotting / printing as required.
- Build low resolution prototypes and volume studies.
- Attend client meetings.
- Contribute to concept critiques.
- Ensure that design and presentation standards are maintained.
Education, Skills & Experience:
- Degree in a relevant field (ideally 2:1 or above)
- Computer literate – Microsoft
- Knowledge of SketchUp, Adobe Suite & Solidworks.
- Knowledge of Keyshot, UNITY & AutoCAD would be desirable.
- 5 to 7 years’ experience working in a Retail Design environment with a good understanding of the design and construction processes.
- Experience of successfully designing and developing products.
- Experience of building rapport and presenting ideas.
- Ability to work with multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
- Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and adjust priorities on a daily basis.

- Must have the ability and willingness to travel within Europe & overseas when necessary.
