The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join their Essex-based team. This is a hybrid role — split roughly equally between field-based customer visits and office time — giving you real variety in your working week. You will be responsible for winning new business, managing a portfolio of existing accounts and handling complex or high-value enquiries from start to finish. You will gather competitor intelligence, identify opportunities to grow margin and share of wallet, and play an active part in shaping the commercial direction of the business. With dealings spanning both UK accounts and international supplier negotiations, this is a broad and rewarding role for someone who genuinely enjoys owning their results.
The Person — and What's In It For You
You will be a confident, commercially minded sales professional with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding targets in a B2B environment. You will be comfortable juggling multiple priorities, skilled at building lasting client relationships and adept at upselling and cross-selling across a diverse product range. Competency with CRM systems is essential, and a background in POS, display, retail fixtures or a related industry would be a distinct advantage.
