Business Development Manager – Point of Sale Solutions (WFH / Hybrid)
Our client, a leading retail Point of Sale company, is looking to recruit a Business Development Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales professional to drive growth within a reputable organisation serving the retail display and POS industry. Although their offices are based in Leicestershire, they will consider candidates based from any UK location as they offer a WFH contract.
Role Overview
The primary purpose of this role is to attract and secure new clients, focusing on closing significant global accounts within target markets. You will be responsible for identifying lucrative business opportunities, maintaining strong client relationships, and managing the full sales cycle to facilitate company growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and close new profitable business, targeting accounts exceeding £3m in potential revenue.
- Build and sustain relationships with clients across various organisational levels.
- Deliver professional and impactful sales presentations.
- Handle project proposals, quotations, and meeting reports, maintaining clear communication with clients throughout.
- Negotiate contracts with support from relevant department heads.
- Accurately capture client briefs and communicate their requirements internally with a focus on seamless project execution.
- Obtain purchase orders at each project stage, ensuring adherence to client specifications and timelines.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure order accuracy and smooth information flow.
- Maintain detailed contact reports for all business meetings per company guidelines.
- Prepare bi-weekly progress reports for the Head of Business, highlighting new leads, ongoing opportunities, and market developments.
- Plan and submit weekly diary updates to manage your workload effectively.
- Collaborate with international offices to monitor global market trends and opportunities.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven track record within the Retail Display / POS industry, recognised for achievement.
- Deep understanding of retail POS products and services, with the ability to articulate value to clients.
- Strong sales background, including upselling, contract negotiations, and delivering compelling sales presentations.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills to expand and strengthen the company's network.
- Excellent organisational skills, able to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously under pressure.
- Experience in developing business strategies and reporting on sales performance, including year-end forecasts.
- Self-confident, persuasive communicator with attentive listening skills to understand client needs.
- Willingness and ability to travel within Europe and internationally as required.
- A valid UK driving licence is essential.
