Bench Hand Joiner
Glencourt Associates is delighted to partner with a reputable design agency in Leicestershire, who are seeking a skilled and experienced Bench Hand Joiner to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to utilise your expertise in joinery and contribute to high-quality retail display and POS projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Joinery Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in retail display units, POS, and shopfitting. Read and interpret technical drawings or CAD designs, translating sketches and 3D visuals into tangible products.
- Collaboration: Work closely with designers and project managers to ensure design feasibility and practicality, maintaining a clear line of communication across teams.
- Material Handling: Work with MDF, hardwoods, laminates, acrylics, and occasionally metals or glass, ensuring precise assembly and finishing standards.
- Quality Control: Inspect completed work for accuracy, finish, and quality, contributing suggestions to enhance efficiency or aesthetic appeal.
- Production & Delivery: Oversee end-to-end production, managing time effectively to meet deadlines, especially during retail and seasonal campaigns.
- Health & Safety: Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, ensuring a clean and organised work environment.
- Site Work: Flexibility to undertake site visits and installations as required.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 3 years proven experience in a joinery or workshop environment.
- Solid understanding of materials, joinery techniques, and production processes.
- Excellent organisational, time management, and communication skills.
- Leadership capability to support team coordination and motivation.
- Positive attitude, proactive problem-solving approach, and flexibility for site work.
- Full clean UK driving licence.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a workshop environment.
Remuneration & Benefits
The role offers a competitive salary of circa £35,000 to £38,000 dependent on experience, alongside the following benefits:
- Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week
- Overtime and site pay
