Job Summary: 3D Designer
My client is Design Consultancy who specialise mainly in Travel Retail design (ie. wall displays, gondolas, stores, counters, pop-ups etc in airports around the world). They work with very demanding luxury global fragrance & cosmetics brands as well as premium wines & sprits. Their work is concentrated on furniture and fixtures and can be seen in most airports around the world.
The role:
To get to know and understand the brand looks and DNA of the clients they work with and apply that knowledge to allocated spaces within stores by firstly modelling and rendering in 3D and then producing detailed CAD drawings to send out to suppliers. They use Cinema 4D for 3D and Vectorworks for CAD. Knowledge of these would be advantageous but training would be given if needs be. They also use Photoshop, InDesign & Illustrator and of course, sketches when appropriate
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess an inquisitive mind and an aptitude for figuring out detailed processes. While strong visualisation abilities are valued, it is essential that the candidate also comprehends the practical aspects of real-life assembly and construction. Needs to have an interest in how things go together, learning about new materials and strong technical drawing skills. Relevant industry experience, particularly in retail furniture for luxury brands, and Travel retail is highly desirable. Should be degree educated with a relevant qualification like Industrial Design/Product Design/Furniture Design etc.
